Overview

LifeWay is the world’s largest provider of Christian resources, and one of 2017 Forbes Best Midsize Employers with headquarters located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.  The LifeWay Credit Union has one branch located in LifeWay Christian Resources corporate office with assets totaling over $44 million and providing banking services to more than 3,600 members.  The Credit Union operates under separate bylaws and a separate charter from LifeWay Christian resources. Current target membership is LifeWay Christian Resources employees, retirees and family members.

Responsibilities

The individual in this role has direct oversight for the general management and administration of the policies, operations, and activities of the LifeWay Credit Union.  The individual acts in accordance with the charter and bylaws of the Credit Union and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of the United States and the State of Tennessee.  The individual in this position acts under the authority of, is accountable to, and reports directly to an elected Credit Union Board of Directors comprised of current LifeWay employees, retirees, and credit union members.

 

  • Provides general management and oversight of all credit union policies, operations and programs
  • Executes credit union board of directors decisions relative to the policies, programs and operations of the credit union
  • Ensures the financial stability and member satisfaction aligns with the best interest of members, employees, and credit union charter, strategic and operating plan
  • Identifies industry trends to include new programs or products, and evaluates all financial services
  • Develops, directs, and implements credit union’s strategic marketing plan
  • Partners and collaborates with the credit union board of directors to ensure compliance with internal and external controls to include compliance with federal laws and regulations
  • Acts as primary contact for relationships with depository institutions, investment brokers, regulatory and governmental bodies, trade and professional organizations, attorneys, auditors and accountants, public relations contacts and other relationships beneficial to the credit union and members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years banking, accounting, finance, or related field required
  • Prior experience leading a credit union or banking institution of comparable size required
