The junior-level Software Engineer assists with maintaining and enhancing information systems by developing and installing software solutions. This position is responsible for supporting our retail point of sale implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and post-implementation enhancements. The Software Engineer will work independently on deliverables but also participate in a very collaborative environment with teammates from various backgrounds to solve challenging problems. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.


  • Supports all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and maintenance for a complex software system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Assists with designs, modifies and develops software programming solutions, including software infrastructure, development tools for current and new applications.
  • Documents and maintains software functionality
  • Performs integration maintenance, support and troubleshoots technical problems
  • Writes well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Tailors and deploys software tools, processes and metrics
  • Performs code reviews, and assists in refactoring inefficient code
  • Collaborates with IT operations to ensure timely project releases
  • Develops and improves relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, internal departments, and other associated entities
  • Works on the backlog of projects and supports other major initiatives where applicable


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related degree
  • 1-3 years professional development experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred, formal training will be provided; ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge gained to project
  • Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
  • Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications
  • Exposure to one of the following programming languages: Java, C#, C++, SQL
  • Ability to take initiative and self-direct when appropriate, ownership and accountability
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team
