The Manager of Content Management Solutions is responsible for developing and executing a holistic and consistent Content Management strategy appropriate for the unique needs of our organization. This position will work with business and IT partners to optimize the existing content models ensuring the integrity of our content is maintained consistently for reliable and accurate publishing to multiple-channels. He/she will develop and monitor key performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities and then work with key stakeholders and IT partners to improve the organizational efficiency in all areas of content management including content authoring, content tagging, content review & approval, content reuse, as well as content distribution and communication. As the Manager of Content Management Solutions, you will be a bridge between the product development organization, the LifeWay IT division, and some of the best editorial teams in Christian publishing.


  • Serve as the product owner for LifeWay's Content Platform and the administrator of the enterprise content management (ECM) system (Alfresco) and repositories to ensure functionality, availability and longevity. 
  • Define, track, and guide the execution of the product roadmap in collaboration with a cross-functional team (e.g., User experience, Development, QA, etc.). Specify functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead all content management related projects for the division and work closely with key stakeholders to deliver the projects on time and with quality.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain automated event-driven process flows and content transformations to support the strategic and publishing processes of the division and other enterprise clients. Identify and manage product dependencies within and across partner teams and the likely downstream impacts due to strategic and development decisions.
  • Develop and integrate a robust digital publishing framework through the creation of content ontologies, RESTful API integrations, and extensible content data models utilizing a variety of structured languages (XML, XSLT, Javascript, Java, JSON, CSS, ePub3) to extend desktop and database publishing sources. 
  • Coordinate the development of a comprehensive leadership strategy for recruiting, hiring, training, rewarding and retaining an excellent staff of high-performing employees (7-10 team members) within a learning culture.
  • Provide process and capabilities support to users; develop training and communication materials; raise awareness; improve processes; share best practices; analyze systems performance and operating efficiency for further enhancements. Work with IT and system support team to resolve systems and applications issues.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or similar
  • 5-8 years experience of demonstrated success defining and building excellent web-based products and/or native mobile apps; expert-level technical, analytical, data abstraction, business process modeling, and web development/coding skills. 
  • 5-8 years experience leading a technical team; servant leadership qualities; a proven track record of successes in the ability to think strategically about technology and business processes and implement new solutions to improve overall efficiency
  • A vast knowledge of digital publishing processes, software, and technology trends with the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects, solve problems, and consistently have department meet goals and objectives with high quality.
  • Experience with Alfresco and/or SharePoint; expertise in Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, Javascript, Java, JSON, CSS, ePub3
  • Ability to develop project plans and lead a project from inception to implementation
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively in a high pressure global environment
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to write communications for a variety of audiences
  • Basic knowledge of Intellectual and Copyright Law
  • Experience leading the development of new products in the education technology or digital media fields preferred
