    The eBook Developer is part of a technical team and is responsible for converting digital files (EPUB, MOBI, PRC, PDF) to use on the Wordsearch platform through the development of and use of templates, scripting and automation according to production schedules and deadlines. 

    Responsibilities

    • Use various coding languages to convert digital files to the proprietary Wordsearch formatting and functionality according to the approved style guide
    • Meet approved production schedules and processes while ensuring that products meet Wordsearch quality standards and deliver high-quality content to customers 
    • Collaborate with other eBook developers to develop and review Wordsearch content and ensure quality standards
    • Stay current in new technologies and up to date on coding languages
    • Participate in team huddles and training to maintain and develop both front-end and back-end development skills
    • Work with eBook developers, metadata specialists, and publishing staff in troubleshooting content, workflow and digital content coding best practices

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Multimedia, or equivalent work experience
    • 2 years of experience with coding/markup languages (XML, CSS, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, GREP) preferred
    • Project management and problem solving skills
    • Communication and organization skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Graphic design skills
    • Typography skills
