We are looking for an innovative User Experience Strategist to join our IT team! The global church is quickly moving towards more digital ministry solutions. Lifeway is hitting the gas pedal and creating more cutting edge, trustworthy experiences for churches. Our UX Strategist will help us lead in this new season.


The UX Strategist is responsible for shaping and communicating Lifeway’s user experience strategies and design for our consumer facing technology solutions, often serving as the team advisor responsible for defining the overall UX vision throughout the digital ecosystem. The UX Strategist will work alongside UX team-members, platform owners, business unit leaders, technical staff, and visual designers to identify requirements, set design goals, study users, and craft experiences that translate business and user needs into highly engaging experiences. The UXS will possess a passion for digital trends and innovation, combined with a sound understanding of user experience practices, front-end technologies, consumers, social networks, and brands. This person excels at identifying the middle point where business goals harmoniously meet consumer engagement and excitement.


The UXS will partner internally to understand audience needs to identify, develop, and execute the overall interactive experience for Lifeway.com, church ordering, on demand and live streaming video, smallgroup.com, Lifeway Women web and mobile applications, Ministry Grid, and more!

  • Models Lifeway's core mission, vision, and values
  • Owns the overall UX vision throughout the digital ecosystem with a user centered focus
  • Hires, mentors, and coaches UX team members
  • Builds and nurtures relationships internally and externally with stakeholders, partners, consultants, etc
  • Direct UX working team in active projects in web and mobile to ensure delivery
  • Defines a rigorous design methodology, ensuring team alignment in approach and process
  • Conducts user research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews
  • Understands audience and stakeholder needs, generating unique solutions
  • Creates deliverables such as strategy briefs and presentation decks
  • Foster simplicity and user friendliness to platforms through IA artifacts and UX 
  • SME in defining end-to-end solutions across Prospect, Customer, Influencer, and Stakeholder digital experiences
  • Effectively prioritizes projects, manages tasks, and communicates with project leaders
  • Performs site or application audits and analyzes data from various measurement tools to provide insights
  • Identifies potential future opportunities through recommended revisions, or improvements for later stages
  • Leads the team on future state user experience exercises
  • Undergirds UX strategy and design as a competitive capability with curated assets and resources to fuel learning and improvement


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 10 years prior relevant experience / 3 years management experience in a business setting
  • Proven leadership to deliver outstanding results and create value
  • Extremely effective communicator who builds trust, embraces challenges and who is a lifelong learner
  • Develops highly creative solutions, enjoys thinking creatively, and strategic in approach
  • Models collaborative teamwork and builds talent and team to meet future needs of digital
