Associate Publisher, Acquisitions | Remote

Lifeway is seeking an Associate Publisher, Acquisitions | Remote who assists the  Senior Publisher/Director of Bibles in title acquisition and ministry partnerships for CSB translation and trade product development/cycle planning. You will work cross-functionally with Bible marketing to provide guidance and leadership for CSB growth plans. Also, be responsible for key Bible and Reference initiatives, meeting business objectives, and overseeing work specific to title acquisition and brand partnerships.

• Editorial duties for Holman Bibles as assigned
• Reviews and acquisitions of select new CSB-related products
• Coordinates with authors and project managers in the development of new and existing reference/commentary titles
• Co-manages miscellaneous content internally and externally (podcasts, blogs, articles, etc.) with other key stakeholders
• Works with Publisher to maintain relationships 
• Develops publishing and partnership strategies to grow translation adoption and ministry use of the CSB
• Conduct research on current market projects, publishing trends, consumer needs, and church experiences for the purpose of collaborating with other internal publishing stakeholders 
• Alongside Publisher, provides theological guidance and publishing oversight to key brands within the ministry area
• Collaborates with Publisher and other key stakeholders to develop CSB growth plans
• Provides leadership to publishing and marketing team to understand pastor and church member needs
• Provides branding guidance on CSB and product marketing campaigns to internal and external teams
• Work with marketing on direct-to-church marketing opportunities where applicable
• Collaborates with marketing to coordinate CSB Bible giveaways and other tactical support for Bible team as needed
• Collaborates with marketing on event promotion strategy/planning, prioritizing presence at events and nature of presence
• Attending relevant professional conferences; Traveling for author/partnership acquisitions
• Occassional travel, sometimes overnight

Education Required

Master's degree in biblical studies, theology or similar, required

Required Experience / Skills

• Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
• 5+ years in a publishing work environment
• 2+ years involvement in strategy development
• Excellent verbal and written communciator
• Retail and CBA industry knowledge, preferred
