Overview

Lifeway is seeking a Strategist, Email & SMS Marketing to lead the strategy, execution, and performance of email and SMS campaigns using platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Attentive to deliver personalized, data-driven messaging that strengthens customer relationships and achieves measurable business goals. This role involves managing the full campaign lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment and analysis, leveraging expertise in HTML, CSS, and responsive design to create dynamic, mobile-friendly templates and advanced audience segments. A focus on A/B testing, compliance with regulatory standards, and collaboration with content, design, and marketing teams ensures campaigns align with Lifeway’s mission and values while driving results. By staying ahead of digital marketing trends, you’ll enhance strategies to make a meaningful impact on Lifeway’s audience and the broader church community.

This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Strategizes, creates, and deploys email and SMS campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Attentive, ensuring high-quality and timely execution. 
  • Develop and edit responsive email templates using HTML and CSS that meet brand standards and perform seamlessly across devices
  • Maintain and segment subscriber lists, targeting campaigns based on user behavior and demographics
  • Plan and implement A/B testing to optimize messaging, subject lines, and layouts for improved user engagement and conversion. 
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, opt-out rates), analyze results, and recommend improvements. 
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations like CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and GDPR while maintaining clean data and list hygiene. 
  • Partner with content, design, and marketing teams to align messaging strategies with Lifeway’s mission and objectives.
  • Infrequent travel, occasionally overnight

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, required 

Masters degree, preferred 

Advanced graduate degree, not required 

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • 5+ years experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Attentive platforms for email and SMS campaign management. 
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles. 
  • Familiarity with email and SMS marketing regulations and best practices. 
  • Understanding and practical application of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Data Extensions, and AMPscript. 
  • Knowledge managing Campaigns using Campaign and Members objects. 
  • Understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Connect integration management. 

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 

  • Experience managing direct mail integration, data management, and social media integrations. 
  • Familiarity with standard internet and email technologies and protocols. 
  • Natural teacher in sharing email marketing knowledge, trends, and best practices with the team. 
  • History managing multi-layered projects with cross-functional teams, hitting milestones and KPIs.  
  • Knowledge of current and future trends in digital marketing and communications platforms and apps.   
  • Journeys, Segmentation, List Management   
  • JavaScript
  • Experience with entry-level analytics and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) 
  • Exposure to marketing automation platforms and testing tools.
