Overview

Lifeway is seeking a visionary and strategic Director. Lifeway Worship to lead a publishing team in serving and equipping worship ministry leaders in the local church. This leadership role oversees strategy, content development, partnerships, and thought leadership, with a deep understanding of worship practices across a range of church expressions. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned worship pastor with a heart for discipleship, a passion for the local church, and the ability to lead a high-performing, ministry-focused team.

                       This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 

Responsibilities

  • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Lead the overall strategy for Lifeway Worship, ensuring resources and community offerings meet the evolving needs of worship leaders.  

  • Serve as a thought leader and ambassador for worship ministry and Lifeway 

  • Build and develop a high-functioning team of Christian content creators, aligning roles with strengths and providing clear guidance and development.   

  • Represent Lifeway Worship at conferences, church events, and other gatherings. 

  • Build strategic relationships with SBC state worship consultants, music industry professionals, and local church leaders.   

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, IT, and content development teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.   

  • Manage annual budgets, aligning financial resources to support strategic goals.   

  • Maintain strong awareness of trends, issues, and theological developments impacting worship ministry.

  • Moderate travel (10-15%), frequently overnight

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Music, Marketing, Communications, or similar, required

Seminary degree, strongly preferred

Masters degree,preferred

Advanced graduate degree (PhD, etc.), not required

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a worship pastor or ministry leader

     

  • 8+ years leading worship in diverse settings including churches and events

     

  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams

     

  • Advanced communication and networking skills

     

  • Strategic planning and execution experience

     

  • Deep knowledge of diverse local church worship practices

     

  • Proficient business and operational acumen

 

Membership and actively involved in a Southern Baptist church

 

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 

  • Experience contributing to or collaborating within Christian music industry
