Overview

Lifeway is seeking a Production Editor that edits marketing content across print, digital, social, email, and product descriptions to ensure accuracy, readability, and consistency. Applies Lifeway Style Guide, Brand Standards, and the Chicago Manual of Style while providing feedback and training to teammates. Contributes to improving editorial practices and strengthening the customer experience

                       This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 

Responsibilities

  • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Edit marketing content for grammar, punctuation, syntax, readability, and consistency. 
  • Apply style guidelines across mediums to maintain a consistent voice and presentation. 
  • Perform advanced fact-checking for product names, pricing, dates, and links. 
  • Anticipate potential inconsistencies and work with content creators or Marketing Strategists to resolve them. 
  • Provide Feedback and Training: Offer constructive feedback on editing practices and share suggestions that raise overall quality.  
  • Train others in applying Lifeway Style Guide, Brand Standards, and Ministry Area standards. 
  • Partner with creative and marketing teams to refine messaging for diverse audiences, ensuring clarity, tone, and campaign alignment.  
  • Contribute editing input that enhances the customer experience and campaign impact.  
  • Partner with ministry area leaders to develop and refine individual style guides as needed. 
  • Contribute to process improvements, share best practices, and provide feedback on editing platforms such as Adobe Workfront.  
  • Consistently meet deadlines and support others in meeting theirs for major marketing assets and campaign deliverables. 
  • Minimal travel, often overnight 

Qualifications

Education

Associate’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or similar, required

Bachelor's degree in Journalism,Communications, English or similar, preferred

Masters degree, not required 

Advanced graduate degree (PhD, etc.), not required

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • Strong proficiency in editing and fact-checking, producing accurate, clear, and consistent content. 
  • Considerable knowledge of digital tools, including Adobe and Microsoft 365, to complete editing tasks and improve workflows. 
  • Proficient in collaboration and training, working with teams to refine messaging and strengthen editorial quality.

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church 

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 

  • MLA and Chicago Manual of Style editing experience strongly preferred
