Job Overview

This internship provides an opportunity to develop problem solving skills by implementing a tool for helps Lifeway better serve the church by giving production teams verified archeological information and images at their fingertips. This intern will work directly with an archive of images and databases, looking for practical ways of optimizing the use of that information.
 
The Biblical Illustrator image library is currently catalogued in a database. The internship work involves creating a usable tool for discovering the images and information tied to each image. A larger goal is to create a tool that helps to better utilize the images and illustrations possessed by Lifeway and the metadata associated with those images.

 


Internship Program Details & Requirements

  • Compensation: Lifeway’s summer internship program offers a competitive hourly pay rate, and all necessary equipment is provided.
  • Work Schedule: Interns work an average of 32 hours per week, with core workdays from Tuesday to Thursday. The expectation is that the internship is the primary focus during working hours.
  • Program Duration: June 1 - August 14, 2026 (11 weeks). Interns must commit to participating in the entire program.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and have completed at least two years of study by the internship start date. Recent graduates (December 2025 or May 2026) are also eligible.
  • Development Opportunities: Weekly professional development sessions are provided, including specialized training, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • Remote Structure: This is a remote position in the U.S., with required in-person attendance for orientation (June 1 - 4, 2026) and end-of-summer presentations (August 11-14, 2026) in Nashville. Travel costs for these events are covered by Lifeway.
  • Application Deadline: Applications are due by December 31, with interviews beginning as soon as possible. Selections are finalized by April 1.

This is a remote position based in the contiguous 48 United States with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings.

Responsibilities

  • Live out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Review of current practice and tools for accessing the Biblical Illustrator photo archive and metadata.
  • Assess the needs within the organization for a tool that provides information on the images in the archive.
  • Recommend potential solutions and implementation paths for a replacement of the current database(s).
  • Overnight travel for Orientation, and Final Presentation weeks

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree or in progress in Database Management or related field of study

 

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • Awareness of cloud-based database systems/tools
  • Familiar with database management
  • Project management strengths
  • Ability to gather and identify similar requirements across an organization
  • Understanding of database systems and tools.
  • Values biblical archeological research 

 

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church
